The Day of the Test

Athletes should consider arriving at least 30 minutes prior to registration to make sure she is mentally prepared and focused on the test itself. Rushing to a test can cause the athlete to be flustered and can affect testing results.  Note that the test will begin promptly at it's scheduled time; if the athlete is late, the test will NOT be delayed until she is prepared. If participants show up after a test has been completed, she will not be allowed to make-up the test. 

You MUST bring the following to your Testing:
*Athlete I.D #
*Athlete Liability Release, Parent Consent, and Code of Conduct documents
*
Glove
*Bat
*Helmet
*Water/Sports Drink to stay hydrated during the testing.

Registration will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of the iQ Physical Testing. During registration, the iQ Instructor will be collecting Athlete Liability Releases, Parent Consents, and Code of Conducts forms. Athletes will then receive a clip board, test sheet, and pencil. Athletes will be paired up with a partner for the duration of the testing.

Warm-up and stretches will be done prior to any testing; however, additional stretching can be done prior to arriving at the iQ testing location. Late participants are responsible for warming up on their own.

iQ Standardized Physical Testing Format.
For quality control of the testing results, each iQ Physical Test is run exactly the same. Athletes testing in Florida, California, New York, South Carolina and so on all follow the same order of events listed below. Once started, the testing will last 3 hours.

The following is the schedule of events for an iQ Physical Test.The test not only covers softball skills, but it also involves rigorous strength and cardiovascular testing.NO rigorous physical training should be done the day of the test outside of the test itself.

Requirements: 1 Field and a maximum of 25 participants

ORDER OF EVENTS:

1.) Ball Exit Speed
2.) Bunting
3.) Slapping
4.) Line Drives  
5.) Throwing Speed/Throwing Accuracy
6.) Long Jump
7.) 5-10-5 Shuttle
8.) 40-Yard Dash
9.) 10-Ball Speed Drill for Time/10-Ball Speed Drill Throwing Test
10.) Agility Test
11.) Home to 1st Sprint
12.) Home to Home Sprint
13.) Push – Up Test
14.) 6 x 150-yd. Shuttle Run with Heart Rate

Once the Physical Testing is complete, Athletes should review their testing sheets to make sure everything is filled out correctly. The Athlete must sign the sheet agreeing the results marked are valid, and the iQ Instructor will also sign the sheet agreeing the results marked are valid. The Athlete will then turn in her test sheet, clip board, and pencil. Testing is now complete! Your results will be listed online within 7-10 days!

 

DISCLAIMER: Athletes should be in good health and free from any conditions known or unknown that might be aggravated by iQ testing.  Athletes with a history of recent surgery, heart trouble, high blood pressure, asthma, or any other condition that could be aggravated should consult their family doctor before taking the iQ Physical Test.  Athletes must advise testing staff of any illnesses, injuries, or any other condition that could be aggravated or potentially affect their capacity to complete the iQ Physical test.
